FAQ
Wont most of these muscle building programs make me bulk up?
No. All of these programs are for women or men. The idea that low weights and high reps make you 'toned' because its kind of resistance and cardio in one is mostly wrong. It is extremely difficult to get big in that kind of professional body builder kind of way without steroids. You should use challenging body weight or gym weights to get a big metabolic effect ie you can increase your metabolism and lose weight with just weights alone. But that only applies to challenging weights not light weights. Why do you think men and women like those on my home page have less than 10% body fat? Well part of the reason and a big part is the resistance training. If you are a women then you still definitely need to use resistance but can start with bodyweight exercises first.
I am a Women which of these is best for me?
It depends what your comfortable with. You must do some type of resistance training. If your comfortable with the idea of free weights then choose my best rated programs on my home page. If you prefer bodyweight exercises there are options there too. Please see my page for weomen.
I am pretty new to weights, are these too advanced for me ?
No not at all. Most of these programs start with a beginners workout through to intermediate and advanced, especially my top 3 or 4. There is no point starting by walking (unless you have an injury) as your wasting your time and are unlikely to see any gains. Start with one of these programs and do the right thing from day one.
I am an intermediate or advanced trainer, what value will they add for me?
Well as they say 'you don't know what you don't know.' Don't assume you have learnt everything. There are so many opposing ideas on fitness its ridiculous so it would not surprise you that you may be doing some things right but others wrong however as a whole your not progressing. These E Books may help you discover that aspect that is holding your body back. That might be nutrition, cardio, resistance METHODs, repetitions, intensity and also tactics you don't know about for core training or say getting rid of that last 5% of stubborn fat. If your serious about this you should be the first to buy these products.
Why should I take your reviews seriously?
That's totally up to you but if you take the time to read them all properly you will see these are detailed and unedited personal reviews. I have tried the 4 shortlisted programs on my own body and know how well they work. Also after reading 10 E Books and so much other resource material added to my own testing, you get to know what's real ie definitely true, most likely true, possibly true or likely untruths. My 4 recommendations are based on real results and I did give each of those 4 programs a good 2 to 12 months plus. You wont get a more detailed and honest review anywhere else to my knowledge.
I want to lose fat mainly, which is best for me?
To lose fat the most effective METHOD is to combine 3 strategies to supercharge your weight loss for good. 1. Nutrition 2. Weight or Body Weight Training 3. Medium to High Intensity Cardio. The 3 are all in order of priority and yes weight training is more important that cardio. In terms of the best overall program it depends on what turns you on. There is no point doing something you will hate. If you like the idea of free and heavy weights go with Sean Muscle Gain Truth but order the Deluxe package with Cardio information. If your less interested in building muscle perhaps Craig Ballantyne is the way to go. Craig's programs are more circuit style.
Is it recommended to buy more than one program?
If you can afford it yes. You should start with only 1 program to begin with though and give that one a good 8 to 12 weeks especially of you're a beginner before coming back for other ideas. In the end all of these programs will be suitable for you nearly 100% of the time but don't be afraid to do some exercises not recommended or swap some around if you believe you have a legitimate reason. If your looking to combine say one my top fitness books with a more nutritionally or diet focused e book then that would be ok to do both at once if you're the type of person that can take in lots of information and wont get sidetracked. If not stick to one with 100% intensity and focus.
What is your program like?
My Program at time of writing is:
- Monday Weights/Resistance 40 minutes, HIIT 15 Minutes = 55 minutes
- Wednesday Weights/Resistance 40 Minutes, Circuit & Core Training 20 Minutes = 60 minutes
- Friday Weights/Resistance 40 Minutes, HIIT 15 Minutes = 55 Minutes
- Saturday (Every 2nd week or so) Circuit and Core Training 20 Minutes + HIIT 15 Minutes = 35 Minutes
I did for a period ramp up to 4 full days with the Wednesday session on every Saturday for about 3 months. I am now in kind of a maintenance stage. 4 days in 7 would be the most I would recommend though for weights and resistance heavy training. My weights/resistance came from Sean's Muscle Gain Truth and My Circuit and Core from Craig's Turbulence Training.
My program achieves several goals at once:
- Achieves an aesthetically pleasing muscular and lean body
- Achieves cardiovascular fitness and endurance
- Achieves a conditioned and functionally strong body
- Achieves increased metabolism which burns fat faster with less effort
- Achieves an internally healthy body and heart
- Achieves a functionally strong core (abs)
The Devil is of course in the Detail and that's where these e books will make the difference between getting an ok body and hitting a plateau to pushing past that plateau in short time and getting a great functional and aesthetically pleasing body. Please note I don't use your standard boring routines but mix my weights up with bodyweight and resistance techniques that were learnt through these e books.
NOTE : Please order via my website if you found my review useful. We do hope you enjoyed our information and encourage you to send in your stories of success to manny@myfitnessexperiment.com
Still Not Sure?
If your weighing up Sean or Craig for example and have a goal of building muscle and losing weight, but are leaning toward mid range muscle size then I would still choose Sean's Muscle Gain Truth. Why? Well if you can afford the additional cardio bonus you can do it all with Sean including HIIT. Also I would say in terms of content, Muscle Gain Truth is slightly better written overall with more useful information on muscle building and nutrition. Alternatively if you hate the idea of using heavy free weights in a gym and prefer circuit training with more bodyweight exercise options then Craig's workouts are the one. Also for home gym users with lighter weights Craig is probably better suited.
I would reiterate that building big muscles is really difficult for a natural body builder and you should not think you will suddenly get massive. The guys in magazines that look ridiculously big are all on steroids and I can assure you lifting some heavy weights is actually recommended for weight loss as it increases your metabolism. Sean's program followed intensely will give you a body like any of the guys above. Craig's program is likely to give you slightly less mass than even Craig has in that picture unless you really push his program to the advanced limits. I would say his workouts will get you losing weight and gaining a leaner more muscular body.
