Joel Marion has been a qualified trainer since 2004 and found the Cheat Your Way Thin Diet completely by accident on a mission to get in the best shape of his life. He Found however that after a major 'cheat' he actually lost weight, and alas this book.

Cheat Your Way thin includes 2 downloadable MP audio tapes lasting about 15 minutes with Joel explaining his diet program and how he came to find it. Lastly you can download a 50 page E Book that in the main sets out the program that includes 3 phases, the priming phase for 3 weeks, the core phase until you lose the weight and the maintenance stage for ongoing.

The main premise of the book is that diets work against you by making the body go into starvation mode and then halting your progress in an effort to store fat ie the caveman theory when we had to hunt for food.

Furthemore Joel explains that the scientific studies show that certain hormones for metabolism slow down in diets and speed up on when you cheat on bad food.

As such the program is essentially about cheating the body by not allowing it to go into starvation mode even though your are eating less calories on most days. The program seeks to trick the body by mixing up the essential protein, crab and even high fat days to keep the body guessing and your metabolism high. In fact one of the days is an all out 'cheat' where you can eat hamburgers etc all day without overstuffing. This is in important part of the strategy.

Food choices are also shown here and Joel explains toward the end that exercise is also required and he uses HIIT (High intensity running or cycling) for about 20 minutes 3 to 4 times weekly.

Overall I found the strategy interesting and he does go into some detail on the hormones and why they increase or decrease on certain foods. Although I did not implement this diet into my program I will update you when I do. In the meantime I would say that the diet did not look dangerous in any way and did include a good mix of protein, vegetables, crab ohydrates and healthy fats and more than 3 meals a day. Although this is not a full fat burning book I would look at this as an option for your nutrition if your finding it difficult to get through a plateau. Worth a try as long as your already have a fitness E Book as recommended on my home page.
